Deworm Ghana Medical program is an initiative of Volunteer Partnerships for West Africa(VPWA), a non-profit volunteer driven African base organization. VPWA mission is to assist West African communities with solution oriented advice and engaging in whichever way that contributes to lifting up lives. The objective is to help in the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals(MDGs) initiated by the United Nations.
Deworm Ghana, first organized in 2011 brought to light, a very neglected health problem inveterate against African children's growth.
In 2012, the initiative will continue to draw on the diverse capabilities of dynamic volunteers engaged from around the world to arrive in Ghana to begin an outreach from 6th July- 19th July 2012. Volunteers, Teachers and Community health Care providers will be will be trained to administer deworming medicine Mebendazole (500 mg) and to teach students about the dangers of worms.
